Elieser Siep (27) was arrested on 23 September 2019 for throwing rocks twice at a salon. He was interrogated and taken into custody while still being treated at a hospital after being stabbed by a non-Papuan migrant. Prosecutors sought one year’s imprisonment for him. He was found guilty of violating Article 170 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code on collective violence against persons or objects and sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment on 6 April 2020. He was freed on 20 April 2020.
